SYNOPSIS

What the shuck is this one about? What does Cob County and North America have in common? Corn, of course.

But when the corn, which is pretty much the heart and soil of Cob County, starts dying just as Peanut, the brother of Beau, officiates Beau and his fiancé’s wedding, the town decides that weddings can’t take place until the corn has been saved. Maizy then heads out to Tampa, where she finds a podiatrist and con-artist, Gordy, who calls himself a “corn doctor”. Gordy sees an opportunity and heads back to Cob County with Maizy. Maizy and Beau’s love affair is on the rocks, and Maizy agrees to marry Gordy when she misinterprets him going down on one knee – catharsis! Will Gordy “man up” and admits that he had a plan up his sleeve to cheat the town; will Maizy and Beau be able to overcome the massive obstacle; and what will happen when the truth comes out?

The truth is, that anybody who kicks back for an evening with a playful, ‘corny’ twist, is that thát is exactly what you’ll get – alongside kernels of hope, corny jokes, folksy storytelling, and toe-tapping music!

“A fun night out! The funky, rootsy score has the audience erupting into show-pausing cheers with memorable melodies and clever lyrics.” – The New Yorker
