Back To The Future – Theatrical Production at Ohio Theatre

Going back in time to the 20th century, a nostalgic time for the current generation, The stage adaptation, Back To The Future, features the thrilling storyline from the original 1985 movie and was also adapted for the stage by the previous picture's originators, Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis. The high-spirited and colorfully loud musical tells the story of Marty McFly, a fearless boy who is sent back in time.

The musical begins as our main character lives a regular routine in a young adult's lifestyle, participating in clubs (mainly in their school band) and spending time with his significant other, all while continuously being quite curious of everything he encounters. His uncontrollable interest ends up as Marty's single inconvenience, as upon making contact with Doc Brown one night, Brown explains that has succeeded in making his transtemporal device (which is actually the DeLorean) operate. An unexpected event that happens on that night pressures Marty McFly to drive the device, startling Marty and transporting him away in time to 1955. Initially confused with what just happened to him, Marty McFly soon figures out that to correct his accident and secure his future, he should also drive the past, and the family and friends who don't know him, back to the right track.

Founded on elements from the movie it was adapted from, each set design of Back To The Future is represented as respect and acknowledgment of the locations from the movie, including Hill Valley High School, Doc’s lab, the McFly’s house, and several locations in the Hill Valley community. Both the stage and clothing creations also accurately depict the two different time periods. Back To The Future’s shift to the West End platform gave another avenue for audiences to see one of the greatest franchises that has been produced, while implementing adjustments and improvements made possible in a stage adaptation.

Even if Back To The Future The Musical brings its viewers on a trip down memory lane back to the 50s and 80s, the venue for this musical is everything but dated.
