Beethoven, Schumann & Brahms

Springtime in Columbus calls for something special - the seasons are changing and everyone’s finally getting back into the swing of life after the cold Columbus winter lockdown. So we’re here once again asking you to COME along - to an afternoon of music that’s gonna make us all feel alive to the sweet hum of classical drums and tons of violins. Coming right to the stage on Saturday, April 18th at 3:00 PM, we’re so excited to welcome the Columbus Symphony Orchestra back to their home away from home for a master class in all things magical - featuring Beethoven, Schumann, and Brahms. A saturday evening to remember why we all love live orchestral moments that have shaped our lives - and all before dinner time at that. Time to get saved in the city streets with a little Beethoven beat. So - ready to go guys?!

Led by Music Director Rossen Milanov, tonight’s program opens with Beethoven’s Egmont Overture - a piece historically known for its drama and courage throughout the entire piece, we’ll be rolling up and down in our emotions just like the Ohio hills. It’ll be a bold and cinematic night - and that’s why we need you right here in the Theatre for a big OH welcome this time around. From there, we move into Robert Schumann’s Symphony No. 4 - a work filled with sweeping melodies, introspective moments, and that unmistakable Romantic warmth. Schumann’s music feels like a conversation between our hearts and mind - constantly shifting, searching, and soaring for musical heights we still have to reach. Hearing it performed live by the CSO is a treat - the precision of the group gives us the perfect time to let every detail breathe and be heard - from the quiet moments to the loud, of course - we ended you all here when it foes down.  Following that will be Johannes Brahms's Concert No.1 to finish the afternoon up. So truest us when we say folks - you’re gonna want to make sure to get here early, and after that, enjoy!

So whether you’re a newcomer or you’re a Saturday symphony serenader through and through - this one’s for us, this one’s for you! Grab a ticket and secure your seats before it’s too late - and then? Meet us downtown for a night we won’t forget. See you real soon - right here with the CSO!
