Harry Potter and The Cursed Child at Ohio Theatre

The incredible set design brings audiences back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Once the curtains open, the audience is blasted with an air of nostalgia that you just can't find in any of the other productions on tour or on Broadway. There's somewhat of an adjustment period to get used to seeing other actors interpreting some of these beloved roles. J.K. Rowling herself mentioned that when she first saw Harry Potter and The Cursed Child LIVE it was tough for her to see Professor Snape, the character, with his back to the audience and expecting to see the late Alan Rickman's face when he turned around. There might be those highly emotional moments for you as well on this Thursday night if you're a big fan of the franchise.

Thankfully at one point, the story being told on stage and the way that it's set up helps people to adjust their eyes a bit. By the time you get to the thick of the play, you're seeing "Harry Potter" as the character without expecting to see Daniel Radcliffe. Know ahead of time, that you're in for a roller coaster of emotions with Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. This ride is much more exciting than anything that you can be a part of at Universal Studios. Maybe what makes this show so intriguing is that it remains faithful to the tone of the movies. It would've been a big mistake to try and make this into a traditional musical to go up against something like The Lion King. Most people would've never bought the idea. Harry Potter isn't on that level of corny, and therefore, a story within this world in a theater shouldn't be either.

It's essential to choose the right seat for this show at Ohio Theatre. They put a lot of work into that set design to make people believe that they are truly getting on a train at Platform 9 at Kings' Cross for you to be blind to those details! Finding a place toward the middle of the theater in a row that's maybe a bit higher up could be ideal. People are flocking to see Harry Potter and The Cursed Child live. Don't be one of those fans who missed out because they weren't able to click the get tickets button fast enough. Go now; worry about everything else later.
