Jesus Christ Superstar's legendary 1970s rock score was initially issued as a concept album and premiered in 1971 at the renowned Mark Hellinger Theatre. It has since become a worldwide phenomenon, running for more than eight years in London. With over 3,358 performances by the time it closed, it was considered the record-breaking musical in West End history at the time.
Originally unveiling at London's renowned Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, the spectacle features lyrics and music by award-winning and highly acclaimed Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Renowned producer Timothy Sheader is the show's director, while celebrated choreographer Drew McOnie is the ensemble's choreographer.
Likewise, the production will feature choreography by acclaimed Drew McOnie, musical direction by Tom Deering, designs by Tom Scutt, lighting designs by Lee Curran, and sound designs by the renowned Nick Lidster.
